The clinic I use only keeps one endo on staff, and they only come in one day per week. They also seem to turn over fairly frequently, so it looks like I may be teaching a new endo about trans issues every year. Fun, fun. note sarcasm
Anyway, I'm seeing the new one next week, and I've been on hormones for about 14 months. My last dosing review was four months ago.
Dear Dr. S---
I am writing you this note in anticipation of our appointment next week at 1:40 pm. My name is D-- N---, and I am a female-to-male transsexual who was being treated by your predecessor Dr. L-- W--. I am currently on a dose of 30mg per week of compounded testosterone cypionate, IM. (Injected on Tuesday evenings)
I have submitted new blood samples in the past 2 weeks for my peak (10/8/2004)and trough (10/12/2004) levels of serum testosterone, and for a fasting lipid profile (10/4/2004), as I have now been on testosterone for a year and I am due for a review of my dosing. I would also like to discuss the possibility of adding a topical testosterone cream to my regimen, to be applied to my clitoris to encourage growth, which is a treatment many other ftms I know are applying.
Many endocrinologists have limited or no experience with transsexuals, especially female-to-male transsexuals, so I wanted to be sure that if you had any questions about my treatment, you would not be taken by surprise next Wednesday. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more detail on any part of my treatment history.
Sincerely yours, and see you next week,
Dan
